If you continue to receive your mail physically even though you have activated the ScanningService, this can have various causes.
Forwarding is not yet active
After the ScanningService is activated, it can take 3 to 4 days for forwarding to the Scancenter to be set up.
You can check yourself whether forwarding is already active. You will find further information in the article «Where can I see whether my forwarding has been set up?»
You have received an accompanying letter
If you receive a physical accompanying letter, this is for one of the following reasons:
- The item did arrive at the Scancenter but could not be scanned in full, for example because it contains several pages, a magazine, a card or physical contents.
- You have ordered the original document via the Swiss Post-App and therefore receive it physically.
The accompanying letter informs you why the item could not be delivered digitally.
Not all items can be digitised
The ScanningService digitises a large part of your letter mail. However, complete digitisation of all incoming items cannot be guaranteed.
For an item to be delivered digitally, it must:
- be scannable,
- be correctly addressed and
- reach the Scancenter.
Items that cannot be scanned continue to be delivered physically to your address.
Note on the delivery address
Physical items as well as ordered original documents are always delivered to your registered and verified residential address.
If you have additionally set up mail forwarding for this address, this is not taken into account, for security reasons, for the items sent by the Scancenter.
