When organising your holiday, several options are available for your consideration. You may select the most appropriate alternative based on your specific needs.
Option 1) Continue the Scanning Service
ePost Service AG does not scan all of your physical mail; therefore, it is advisable to regularly clear your mailbox. If you are not anticipating urgent correspondence or imminent deadlines, you may continue to utilise the scanning service. Your letters will be physically delivered to your mailbox and will only be accessible upon your return. Based on prior experience, we recommend a maximum absence of one to four weeks, depending on the volume of your physical mail.
Option 2) Cancel ePost Service AG Scanning
You may cancel the service, which will terminate the redirection of your mail to the scanning centre. This will incur no charges, and your mail will be delivered directly to your home address. Alternatively, you may arrange for mail redirection to a family member via Swiss Post or utilise the “Retain mail” service. Both options are fee-based services provided by Swiss Post. Please note that subscription refunds are not available in this instance. Should you wish to resume the service after your holiday, reactivation will be required.
Option 3) Retain Mail and ePost Service AG Scanning
It is not technically feasible to forward your mail to ePost Service AG while simultaneously retaining the physical mail at the post office branch. To avoid reconfiguring your service upon return, you may maintain the ePost Service AG Scanning subscription (subscription fees will continue to apply) and concurrently order the “Retain mail” service. Upon expiry of the “Retain mail” service period, please contact our support team to reactivate the redirection to the scanning centre at no additional cost.
Option 4) EDS Butler Service
If you frequently travel abroad or will be absent for an extended duration and require digital access to all your correspondence, particularly when deadlines are stringent, we recommend the EDS scanning service. You may order a mail redirection service from Swiss Post to have all your mail scanned by EDS. Further information and pricing details are available here.
