ePost stores three types of data: personal data, item data and app usage data. Below you will learn what these data are used for.
1. Personal data
To use ePost fully, you enter personal data in the Swiss Post-App. This data is used for matching during a digital submission as well as for further processing via ePost. ePost Service Ltd stores it in principle in Switzerland. As part of the provision of services, individual data may also be processed abroad by contractually bound processors. In your profile, you retain an overview at all times of which data about you is stored. In addition, you can remove, change or add data in your profile at any time.
ePost does not pass on personal data to third parties for its own purposes. As part of the provision of services, data is passed on to processors who are contractually bound to data protection. The information in the data protection declaration is authoritative.
2. Item data
As part of the use of ePost, we store data on items received. This data comprises the received file as well as the associated metadata. We process it to fulfil the service and in principle in Switzerland, in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). As part of the provision of services, individual data may also be processed abroad by contractually bound processors.
3. App usage data
For the purpose of product, offering and operational optimisation, ePost (ePost Service Ltd) uses tracking applications in the Swiss Post-App, «My digital mail» section, which evaluate customer behaviour anonymously. Any conclusion about individual persons is thereby excluded.
